Shaded Stitchery

Designer Shaded Stitchery specializes in counted cross stitch patterns that celebrate Black culture, positivity, and inclusivity. I discovered and fell in love with cross stitch in 2018, at a time when I was looking for something tactile to do with my hands as a departure from my screen-based work as a freelance graphic designer. It quickly became my daily calming and restorative self practice. After finishing my first pattern, I went in search of more niche offerings and grew frustrated when I couldn't find many pattern options that I felt reflected my culture and ethnicity. So I began designing what I didn't see. My goal is to create patterns that inspire and empower people to connect with their creativity.
