This is the full 2019 Mystery SAL, including all 12 parts as they originally appeared. The design also features a bonus part 8, which was originally released as the August panel. I took inspiration from Emily Dickinson’s beautiful poem that opens with these lines: “Hope” is the thing with feathers – That perches in the soul – And sings the tune without the words – And never stops – at all – Hope is such a wonderful sentiment to meditate on whilst stitching. And to me, it is also about love – for there cannot be hope if there is no love! My Hope design measures 363 crosses in height and 249 crosses in width, and will measure approximately 15 5/8″ x 22 3/4″ (57.8 x 39.7cm) As you will decide over the course of the year which designs you will be stitching, I can only give an estimate to the total stitches – which will be around 32000. This means that stitched with 2 pulled strands of 6-stranded floss on 32 count linen (or 16 count Aida) you will need between 118 and 150 metres of floss (15 to 19 skeins of DMC / Anchor). The 2018 Mystery SAL proved how creative you all were in your interpretations of my design, and I really look forward seeing your personal interpretations!
