Strange Botanical Art/Illustration & Cross Stitch Design No AI I started Noctiflora Designs because I love poisonous, carnivorous, or macabre plantsâeither real or imagined. So I started designing the cross stitch patterns that I wanted to stitch and creating the art that I wanted to hang on my wall. "Noctiflora" means nightfloweringâwhich is a reference not only to plants that bloom at night but also to my night owl ways (the wee hours of the night are my favorite time for arts and crafts). It also just sounds a little spooky and a little pretty! I make cross stitch patterns and art prints of uncanny botanicals and creepy crawlies that might be found in a haunted forest or dark garden in the dead of night.
